Facts:
  1. Air Force's cadets take part in the school's extensive athletic program which helps them to develop their physical skills. The team also takes part in the Commander-in-Chief Trophy with both Army and Navy.
  2. Boise State plays on a blue field turf with their stadium playing host to the annual Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
  3. Colorado State moved into the on-campus Sonny Lubick Field at Colorado State Stadium (41,000) after leaving the off-campus Hughes Stadium (34,000).
  4. New Mexico's nickname is 'Lobos' which is Spanish for 'wolf'. Their stadium plays host to the annual New Mexico Bowl.
  5. Utah State uses Aggies as it began as a land-grant and agricultural college with a bull, called Big Blue, as their official mascot.
  6. Wyoming chose Cowboys as their nickname in 1891 when a true cowboy assisted the team against one from Cheyenne, WY. Their mascot is 'Pistol Pete', introduced in 1917, and is a student dressed up like a cowboy with teams, of either gender, called 'Pokes' which is short for Cowpokes.
